Metaphysics and Evangelicals (not an oxymoron)
Updated: Sep 27, 2019
I had the pleasure of telling my story on a recent podcast, "The Black Sheep Experience" with Craig Hostetler. Craig's podcast is about the experience and painfulness of leaving the Christian tradition that you were raised in while clinging mightily to Jesus.
This is the thing. Christianity and metaphysics are not opposed. In fact, many evangelicals are highly metaphysical. Some know it. Some do not, but they encounter friction and painfulness when their belief systems can intrude on the way they understand metaphysics. It is painful when a church community does not support our growth and expansion -- life shatteringly painful.
My work brings people to me every day who struggle with EXACTLY this issue. Being in between spaces is uncomfortable for sure -- even painful. It means an overhaul for our spiritual lives, and turning them inside and out. We get to expand to places we never thought possible.
Even though it doesn't feel like it at the time, this is a gift. Why, exactly? Because it lets us re-evaluate our whole being (again, not comfortable!) and THIS is the path to expansion. When we have radical expansion as Christians, we are able to truly journey on the path that Jesus taught. The Christian path is not easy, and Jesus never promised that it would be. But it is not continuously painful, either. When we continue to live in pain by choice, that's when things are more difficult than they need to be.
If you are someone who has been struggling with how to leap forward with metaphysics and shift from the painfulness of your previous church experiences, then this podcast episode might just be for you. There is a free gift for listeners as well for you to connect with your angels.....a beginning step on your path to healing.
